Change National Rail Carriage Conditions to allow handling of lost tickets

The Issue

Currently due to clauses in National Rail Carriage Conditions UK rail companies will neither reprint or refund situations where a traveller has lost their ticket but has full proof of purchase , proof of identity and confirmation email including allocated journey seats . Other modes of transport handle this. The cost to a customer for a lost ticket is also generally higher than the original purchase due to the timescale of loss of ticket being closer to or on day of usage.

My daughter recently suffered from this fate , realising she had left her return ticket in a sleeping berth , no one would help despite visit to train station and numerous calls onto the Customer Service line.

I feel that in such circumstances where all the proof of purchase and allocated seat numbers are available the rail handlers should be able to provide good customer service and provide a reprint
