Petition updateWE STOPPED THE IMMINENT DEPORTATION OF GAY ASYLUM SEEKER (JIMMY KYESSWA) TO UGANDA!STOP THE DEPORTATION OF JIMMY KYESSWA AT 5.25PM TODAY

Tony OpenshawManchester, ENG, United Kingdom
Dec 5, 2016
1,000 friends and supporters from all over the country have signed the petition for Jimmy, in a short period of time, asking the Home Secretary Amber Rudd and the Immigration Minister Robert Goodwill to stop his deportation from the UK.
Despite this, Jimmy remains detained in Harmondsworth Immigration Removal Centre and is due to be forcibly deported on a flight to Kenya from Heathrow Airport at 5.25pm today (5 December 2016).
We are asking supporters to send as many emails and faxes as possible to Kenya Airways. You can also phone the airline.
Emails, faxes and phone calls should point out that Jimmy is being forcibly removed. Friends and supporters are concerned about sending an openly gay man back to serious harm and persecution in homophobic Uganda.
Jimmy does not have a passport for either Kenya or Uganda. Please make this clear in your email to Kenya Airways.
He has been booked on Kenya Airways Flight KQ101 which leaves at 5.25pm from Heathrow to Nairobi today. Presumably he has then been booked on a connecting flight from Kenya to Uganda.
EMAIL/PHONE/FAX KENYA AIRWAYS TO SAY THAT JIMMY MUST NOT LEAVE THE UK. THE MORE EMAILS, PHONE CALLS AND FAXES THEY RECEIVE THE BETTER. THIS KIND OF ACTION HAS WORKED IN THE PAST. PLEASE TRY TO FIND SOME TIME TO HELP KEEP JIMMY IN THE UK.
Email Mbuvi Ngunze, Group Managing Director and Chief Executive of Kenya Airways, mbuvi.ngunze@kenya-airways.com
and tell him why Jimmy must not fly.

Dear Mr Ngunze,
Re: Jimmy Kyesswa – Ugandan - HO Ref: K1298270 - DOB 20/12/73
I am writing to ask you not to fly Jimmy Kyesswa on Kenya Airways Flight KQ101 which leaves at 5.25pm today from Heathrow to Nairobi..
We feel Jimmy was not treated fairly because he was detained on 5 September 2016 when he went to report at Dallas Court Immigration Reporting Centre, Manchester in compliance of the Home Office conditions to his temporary admission before he could exercise his right to submit further evidence in support of his case scheduled for 9th September; a date given to him by the Home Office to bring these new evidences to their Liverpool office. He was then immediately detained and taken to Morton Hall Immigration Removal Centre in Lincolnshire.
Jimmy fled Uganda in January 2005 after he suffered persecution because of his sexuality. Jimmy had hot water poured on him after being discovered with a man. The situation in Uganda is well known where gay people face persecution on a daily basis, such as mob violence, imprisonment and even death.
Since being in the UK Jimmy has felt safe and has developed same sex relationships. He is currently in a subsisting same sex relationship with his boyfriend, Cyrille, for more than a year which the Home Office is not recognising.
Jimmy is also involved with a number of LGBT organisations and has a high profile on the internet including Facebook. He has attended several LGBT events around the UK to campaign for LGBT rights and for the rights of gay people in Uganda.
If deported, Jimmy would lose his relationship with his boyfriend, his community in Manchester and would have to try to avoid persecution by living in hiding. We fear that he would be discovered and killed by homophobic mobs.
Jimmy's visibility and involvement in campaigning for gay rights especially in Uganda will put him in grave danger if deported back to Uganda.
As chief executive of Kenya Airways, I am urging you not to be complicit in the Home Office's attempt to remove Jimmy forcibly from the UK.
Thank you,
