Mcintyre has spent his adult life proudly and bravely serving his country and protecting our interests in Afghanistan and Iraq. His is suffering from PTSD.
We believe the least he deserves is the ability to demonstrate his innocence at a trial in his own country rather than face the additional mental anguish of extradition.
Our extradition laws are not fit for purpose. An effective forum bar is long-overdue. This would allow the Courts to determine whether the interests of justice would be better served by extraditing a defendant rather than seeing him tried in Britain.
