Allow CBD to be sold as a supplement until it reaches the NHS
The Issue
In October 2016, after a prolonged deliberation, the MHRA concluded that cannabidiol (CBD) should be categorised as a medicine in the United Kingdom. However, CBD is not available on the NHS, and will not become available for a long time due to the arduous process of clinical trials and standardisation required of medicines. Therefore, the MHRA have effectively banned something they acknowledge to be a medicine.
We urge the UK government to reconsider this decision. We would specifically ask that CBD be permitted to be sold in shops and on the Internet until this medicine reaches the NHS.
