Hi I had a very positive meeting with Dereck Thomas MP, alongside me was my husband and Adrian Bigg who represents the BHS, Alison un fortunately broke down on her way to me so couldn’t film. When we arrived at the office we had a coffee and a chat, he asked us lots of questions and asked how and what we could do help the situation. Dereck Thomas very positive and suggested we narrow down what we actually want to change so we have provisionally decided on 1= changing the law to make it a legal requirement to pass wide and slow bringing the speed limit to 15mph 2 = try to keep our bridleways safe 3= to start a campaign like the cyclists have had for the last few years, highlighting safety on the roads around horses I think this is a positive start, he also asked me to accompany him to London to hand deliver the petition because Andrew Jones Transport Minister wants to take this further and is also very interested in working together for this which is again fantastic news! Dereck Thomas is visiting me next Friday so that Alice can come to film her documentary! I will have the horses here to take some photos and video including Dereck Thomas of course! I think it helped as he said his wife used to ride! I would like to say how pleasant he was and how interested he was; he took the two DVD`S I made with John brindles help to watch.
