Earlier this week, the body of a bulldog was discovered in the River Dee after giving birth to a litter of pups.

She was found to have cuts on her tongue and a wound at the end of her tail and when examined by a vet, it was also evident that she had very recently given birth to puppies.

I want the UK Government to enforce tougher punishments on those who abuse/neglect any sort of animal. This includes:

• Automatic ban on keeping any sort of animal for life. 
• Minimum 8 year sentence if convicted of animal abuse/neglect.
• Automatic ban on breeding any sort of animal.
• Minimum fine of £1,000 if convicted (remaining to go to animal charities after court costs etc).
