I will be on ITV border this evening at 6pm speaking about an upcoming meeting that this campaign and forced to happen. It will be between myself, United Utilities, the Environment Agency, the Lake District National Park authority, the Freshwater Biological Association and South Cumbria Rivers Trust.
In this meeting I expect a plan to be put on the table describing how Windermere can be saved from ecological destruction and a commitment from all those mentioned to when we will see high quality water in the National Park. This requires a lot of investment and I expect funding to be arranged and to be of the highest priority. Failing this I will be pushing for the National Park to be stripped of its UNESCO World Heritage status over its failings to protect our waters. It is now time to apply the pressure of public scrutiny to make those in charge to act and not just talk.
I am yet to have a confirmed date but have been assured it will be before Christmas. Like always constant updates of the campaign are posted on my social medias (Twitter + Instagram) @mattstaniek
