I am BEYOND excited to announce that I have launched the Windermere Lake Recovery CIC (Community Interest Company) AND I am crowdfunding for the CIC’s first project, which will help directly reduce phosphorous pollution from entering Lake Windermere!
Windermere Lake Recovery will work with farmers, landowners and the local community to implement natural solutions to mitigate water pollution, allow nature recovery, prevent future flood events and droughts, thus making us more adaptable to climate change and most importantly help to begin the recovery of Lake Windermere.
I want this the crowdfunder to help Windermere Lake Recovery to be able to reintroduce keystone species, improve terrestrial and aquatic habitats within the catchment, and work with farmers to help support the development of their decisions and enable the passage of wildlife across the landscape.
The first project the CIC is running is on National Trust land which is farmed by Chris Laurie and Jennie Hill ! There is more information about the project in the link below, as well as a NEW statement from myself about the campaign on the petitions main page.
