Walking on the canal towpath at dusk we were horrified to see a man dressed in camouflage hiding in a bush with a gun. He had a whistle he used to imitate the call of a mallard duck. 

He called the ducks flying to roost for the night to him then blasted them out of the sky with his shotgun. 

We saw a lone duck swimming round calling for its mate, unable to find it as it had been murdered by the coward in the bush. 

How can it be ok to kill these beautiful creatures for sport?
