I would like government to refrain from cutting the UKs grass verges before the end of May each year, as the verges provide essential early food for our immensely valuable and struggling bee population.

During Covid-19 lockdown, the verges weren't cut and I noticed a marked increase in the numbers of bees around on my daily walks.

Cutting the verges is unnecessary and not cutting them before the end of May each year will save the councils and taxpayers money.
