Following on from research in China and in Australia, we call on the UK government to trial Chloroquine as a treatment for infected persons who have contracted Covid-19. This treatment is readily available, cheap to produce, and is patent-free.

We need to start testing this treatment immediately in patients who have developed Covid-19 associated pneumonia. This is of utmost urgency. I have started an official petition on the parliament website but this takes time to process and be approved. 

Initial results show that it can improve outcomes but requires controlled tests. This compound is an anti malarial and is even available over the counter. We request that the Chief Medial Officer and the Prime Minister urgently begin a controlled trial of this treatment in patients who test positive for Covid-19 in the UK.

Furthermore, this treatment is also supported by Elon Musk, in a recent tweet to his millions of followers.
