Chester Zoo have tried to stay positive during this pandemic. They have planned for re-opening, they have cut no corners in terms of care for animals and commitment to conservation work.  They had looked forward to welcoming you back soon.

But, they have now received devastating news that the government has ordered them to stay closed ‘indefinitely’, despite being ‘Covid secure’ and able to safely manage numbers and social distancing.  While other ticketed gardens open this week, Chester Zoo's 128 acres must stay closed.

This has thrown the future of the zoo in to doubt.

We know that you’ve all been so patient, waiting to hear about when you’ll be able to return to the zoo.  The honest answer is that they don’t know when that will be.  They are still fighting hard to get the go ahead to reopen soon but they desperately need your help.

As a charity, they now need to raise £1.65 million per month to save the zoo.  If all of the members choose to keep their memberships going then that would be a huge help to get them there.  They hope that this month you can help them, by signing this petition at
