Overturn Jay Neasham's suspended sentence, worsen it and make it an example.
The Issue
Anyone personally affected by Jay please come forward and speak to someone, whether it's anonymous or not we really need everyone's help in securing a proper conviction, no one should be suffering in silence. Many charities are available for support such as Rapecrisis UK and more found below.
The sentence for paedophiles and sex offenders is extremely shocking. Today Jay Neasham from Whitby was found guilty of sexual offences with a 6 year old girl. All he has received is a slap on the wrist and a restraining order. No jail time, nothing, just a suspended sentence and a restraining order. Jay has also managed to avoid being placed on the sex offenders register. Things need to change in our judicial system. Victims are being ignored of the harrowing crimes against them. Our Law needs looking over and improving to bring in harsher sentences for these disgusting people.
No amount of time in jail will make up for the things that he has done but he does not deserve the opportunity to walk free. I propose a petition to have his suspended sentence overturned and let it be an example for anyone else, if you do the crime, you will pay the time. This girl will never be the same again so why should we let him go on, and who's to say he won't do it again while he's free on his suspended sentence.
This petition is the chance to tell people like Jay that there will be consequences to your actions and hopefully less victims will be afraid to come forward.
