The increase of dog thieves is on the rise and people are being targeted daily with their cherished and loved dogs being stolen from their homes, gardens and even from their own hands to be re-sold for money.

Dogs are a mans best friend, they are part of the family and it is like stealing a child yet this crime is on the increase and we must put a stop to it. The only way to deterrent these crimes is to introduce tougher penalties for these criminals.

More must be done to prevent these crimes and these crimes must be taken more serious. If a child is stolen it will become headline news, but the only time you are hearing of missing dogs is through social media and animal groups. 

These crimes must become public and these criminals must be punished for their actions. 

Tougher sentences must be made for these cruel heartless individuals and a wider hunt for stolen pets must be put in place. Its the only way to stop these crimes and I ask for you all to sign this petition in hope this is recognised as a major crime and not just petty theft.
