For UK festivals to provide facility’s for drug testing, education and harm reduction

The Issue

To many young people have lost their lives attending festivals due to participating in drug taking. The current situation regarding this is concentrated on punishment rather than harm reduction!! If organisations such as The Loop could attend all festivals and provide a confidential drug testing facility and also provide education and harm reduction techniques then young lives could be saved!!

We need to stand together as parents and insist that this facility is available to all festival goers!!! Young people will always experiment and this will not change. However, what can change is the approach taken in the UK towards this!!

We need to ensure our young people are educated on the facts and are not fearful to seek medical assistance!! There are many organisations in the UK that provide this service however, numerous festivals this year including Boomtown and Leeds Festival have not invited these organisations to be a part of the event and this has ultimately played a part in young people becoming ill or losing their lives!!

Telling our young people to say no to drugs is not working, we need to concentrate on harm reduction and making sure that our young people have a safe, confidential environment at events like this to discuss the implications of drug use and to actually see first hand what is within these substances before consumption!!!

To many young lives are being lost and they could be preventable!! Please sign this petition to see if we can implement stations in all festivals offering these facilities
