Campaign to stop noise nuisance created by Police Helicopters in London.

The Police force in the UK, and in particular London have Police Helicopters used on a 24hr basis to assist the ground Police with their activities. While this brings some help to those individuals who are victims of crime, many thousands are at the same time subject to extreme noise nuisance that these helicopters create, and in particular at night.

For every one incident being dealt with using Police Helicopters, thousands in the metropolitan areas they fly over are having their lives harrassed, affected and even destroyed due to lack of sleep by the extreme noise that these dual engine helicopters create. Noise disturbance is a huge cause of mental health problems, and must be taken seriously.

The budget for Police Helicopters (NPAS) in London alone is £43 million (2019-2020 Police Expenditure Report) - this equates approximately to the running of 215 police cars in London (inc. 2 Police Officers and running costs).

This petition is to stop night time helicopters over built up areas and to have ground forces increased. The single biggest complaint towards the Police force in London is the night time noise nuisance they create.
