The current PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) worn by NHS staff and other key workers involved in the care of COVID-19 patients is far form being in line with the standards set by the World Health Organisation. 

Despite this, Public Health England state that the methods of PPE (a plastic apron, short gloves and simple surgical face masks) are a suitable method of protection against the virus.

By wearing inadequate methods of PPE, it results in NHS staff being exposed (with areas such as their arms and hair being unprotected) to potential contamination. As a result, it means that a large proportion of staff, who are doing their best to provide the highest levels of care possible are at an increasing risk of developing COVID-19. 

This petition aims to raise awareness of the inadequate level of PPE and to improve the quality of protective equipment available in order to mirror that of other countries. For example, full body hazmat suits, full face visors and respirator masks.
