Today Oct 31st 2014 a small , defenceless and 100% harmless dog was PTS for nothing more than getting excited at seeing an elderly lady and 'jumping up' at her !!!!! The new laws in the UK regarding dogs is insane . Dogs (just like children) are what 'adults' make them . NO dog (or child) is born 'dangerous' regardless of breed . The UK is known to the entire world as an 'Animal loving Nation' and the new laws contradict this 100% . I personally have 3 dogs aged , 9yrs , 5yrs and 18mths . None of my dogs have ever been or ever will be a danger to society because I am a responsible dog owner and I love them dearly . The 'dangerous dogs act' was created after irresponsible and abusive owners failed to care for their animals correctly . Starving dogs have not attacked people , they have merely fought for food . Pit Bulls and Staffordshire Bull Terriers in particular have been deemed as 'dangerous' because of their maltreatment by owners , those responsible for 'dog fighting rings' and teens using them as 'status symbols' !!! The owner of angel PTS today begged the Police to prosecute her and let her baby live but because of new and completely out of control UK legislation , the innocent dog was destroyed . I'm wondering where this lunacy will stop ?? Are Cats next if they pad your leg purring their hearts out because someone misinterprets the padding as 'clawing' ??? UK Government , we the undersigned demand you revoke and rethink this insanity !!! The dogs are nothing more than a product of 'man' . You should be prosecuting the irresponsible 'owners' NOT PTS innocent dogs
