Part 3 and SC Changes - No consultation and NASP says nothing.

Yet again the DVSA ride roughshod over the industry, today unilaterally declaring that the temporary changes to help continue with the testing during COVID will remain:

"DVSA is keeping part 3 and standards check at 45 minutes across Great Britain"

and "DVSA will also continue to ask that your pupil who you bring to these tests must be at least partly trained"

This despite the legal regulations stating that the only person you cannot bring is someone that has passed the ADI Part 2 test.  

Will the DVSA now be retesting ADI that used a beginner for their Part 3 or SC?

Presumably so as with beginner lessons they cannot "assess the instructor’s ability to control the lesson in a moving environment" as more of the lesson is stationary.   

Will NASP be asking the DVSA to reduce the badge fee, as instead of an hour-long assessment we are now only getting 45 minutes?

This in addition to its other made-up requirements where DVSA examiner bully Part 2 and 3 candidates with at the start of their tests, grilling them over logbooks and trainers' details, despite their being no legal requirement to do so.

In what other industry is a regulator allowed to imply to a candidate that members of a made-up voluntary register (ORDIT) are better than non-members? potentially damaging the business and reputation of the huge majority of tax paying non-ORDIT trainers in the industry?

The DVSA is an utter disgrace, this must be the only regulated industry in the country where the qualifying tests and the tests to remain on a register can be changed on a whim with absolutely zero consultation with its members.

In other news, it seems that the message is finally getting through to the NASP organisations, one of the constituent members had to cancel its upcoming conference due to lack of interest and the head of another one has resigned. Let's hope this is the beginning of the end, just deserts for toadying to the DVSA rather than properly supporting ADIs.  

Still the is a glimmer of hope that for all the rearranging of deck chairs the DVSA is doing, rumors from a high level suggest serious consideration is being given to stripping the DVSA of its responsibility for testing as well as running the ADI register. It seems as well as ADIs others have finally had enough of the fiasco that is the DVSA. Is this the reason we haven't had a message from Lovejoy, Eric or Tinker in person lately?

The pressure is finally on NASP and the DVSA, please continue to share this petition to your colleagues so that we keep their feet to fire and let's get the DVSA scrapped, and its managers sacked.
