NASP selling us down the river again...

...kowtows to DVSA demands to publish all your pass rate data.

After finally being forced to justify what exactly it does do. (Answer not a lot for £80 a year) in a webinar conveniently hosted at 4pm on a Tuesday which is how you can tell they aren't working ADIs*, as we're usually all teaching that time of the day, tucked away in the post webinar email is:

"NASP will also be carrying out regular surveys to gauge opinion in the industry on key issues impacting it. The first will be a survey looking at how trainer performance data could and should be used "

Not "if" trainer performance data should be used, but "how" it "could and should be used".

As far as they are concerned then the question of IF the DVSA should be using this information at all has already been resolved!!

NASP seems to have learnt the trick from its DVSA masters of how to pretend to consult on something that is already decided and then give no alternative option in the consultation.

*It's clear they aren't working ADIs as the Highway Code Changes "Fact Sheet" released by one of the NASP Bodies states:

"The Highway Code changes state that you can “only flash your headlights to let other road users know that you are there" - That's been in the Highway Code since at least 1993 (it was rule 135 back then) which was probably the last time most of the people in NASP taught a learner.  Makes you wonder how accurate the rest of their "facts" are. 


Don't forget they're still trying to sell us down the river by allowing the DVSA to mandate display of badges on test, so remember to fill in the DVSA survey and ask your learners and colleagues to do the same, telling them exactly what you think!
