DVSA to make learners wait a month between retests
they want to publish your pass results, and also mandate displaying badges on test.
Yes, you read that right, the failing DVSA responsible for a crisis of its own making firstly wants to "extending the period that unsuccessful car candidates must wait before applying for another car test, from 10 to 28 days", a pupil that goes to pieces on the day (perhaps due to the added pressure that if they don't pass they'll have to wait a minimum of a month for a retest) or makes a silly mistake could end up having their learning time extended 3 months, with extra costs of lessons and for many having to pay to renew the theory certificate. Pupils with additional needs (always conveniently ignored by the DVSA in both theory and practical tests may end up taking years now)
"Requiring approved and trainee driving instructors to display their registration certificate during all tests"
Yes, we've been telling you NASP knew all about this since the middle of last year. The point of PDIs having a badge displayed on test anyway seems unclear as they won't undergo standards check.
And finally:
"We’re also asking learner drivers and their parents what information they would find useful when choosing an instructor and whether this includes details about their performance"
Do you want the DVSA to publish your personal pass statistics for everyone to see? NASP want them to.
As usual NASP toadies do nothing other than nod in agreement, why anyone wastes their money on joining a NASP affiliated organisation is beyond us! The standard check shambles alone showed that NASP was a waste of time.
Now more than ever the time has come for a full investigation into the DVSA, and proper consultation with the industry over any changes rather than the lip service paid to the tame NASP lapdog.
