New Year - New Sell-out by NASP

The scandal of the most pointless consultation body in the industry continues. Today the DVSA announces the closure of more test centres, and after last year's continual backlash against NASP, even NASP itself is now forced to admit:

  ".... there has been no consultation with ...NASP about these closures" in its notification email. 

As the Standards Check and B+E fiasco shows, it seems even the DVSA have given up the pretence of "consulting" with "your trade association"

If there is involvement from a local MP (NASP won't be the one involving them mind you!) then the DVSA will follow its standard procedure of cancelling the closure and then a year lately quietly closing it down when no-one is looking.

Speaking of MP's, we've also heard that MP for the Shetland Islands, Mr Carmichael wrote to transport committee chairman Huw Merriman MP at the end of last year, calling for a parliamentary inquiry into the DVSA stating the DVSA are ""evasive” and “deaf to outside views”.
Well, anyone (unless you're in NASP) has always known that!

We'd also like to know as the DVSA have always said cost of the Standards Check is part of the badge fee, will ADIs who don't receive a SC get a pro-rata refund? The A++++ Instructors at NASP and the DVSA fat cats seem strangely quiet on that......

2022 is the year to turn up the heat on the DVSA and later on we'll be asking you get your MPs involved in the call for an enquiry as well so stay tuned!

In other news, apparently, Eric and Tinker can see that the writing is on the wall for them and the DVSA, so rumor has it they're off by March to avoid the fallout, leaving Lovejoy holding the bag!
