The NASP/DVSA Stitch up continues

NASP still pretends to "protest" against the SC changes imposed by Lovejoy and her cohorts by asking for it to be a "pilot" while actually doing nothing but selling you Standards check training courses. 

Where as what it should be doing is clear from the DVSA latest nonsense of a blog post. 

" to create a level playing field, we need you all to display your certificates"

To frustrate the DVSA the only form of direct action available is for as many of us as possible to remove badges during the test.  

Instead of toadying up to the DVSA, why aren't the NASP Organisations calling on all members to remove their badges and lobbying against the plans by the DVSA to make it compulsory?

The whole situation is basically a cover for the DVSA to increase Pass Rates while pretending that it is nothing to do with them but all down improved instructor statistics.   Lets examine the below statement in further detail:

"Pass Rate Nationally it has been at around 46% for many years (this is all tests not just those presented by ADI’s). Currently it is 51.6%. We have set the parameter at 55% or below. The average pass rate achieved by ADIs who have presented candidates for test, displaying their badge (certificate) is currently 52%."

"Nationally it has been at around 46% for many years" - Yes because the DVSA rig the pass rate at that level. As we've discussed many times it it statistically impossible for the pass rate to remain the same over that number of years and that many changes to the test criteria. 


"The average pass rate achieved by ADIs ..... is currently 52%."

Who in their right mind would then set one of the trigger criteria as 55%? That means the majority of ADIs are already triggering the low pass rate criteria and stand a good chance of hitting the other three. And the DVSA have already said they have to change the SC criteria because they don't have the resources. 

Don't be surprised this time next year when the average pass rate magically increases to 55%, it will have nothing to do with ADIs and everything to do with examiners marking things more leniently and then hiding behind the "every situation is different" excuse. 

Speaking of examiners, don't hold your breath for the new massive recruitment intake. Apparently the failure rate is huge, one of our sources tells us that out of a group of 30 only 1 was left. Presumably the DVSA will be taking action against its own trainers with a failure rate like that?

And finally despite repeated denials we know the DVSA/NASP B+E stitch up is still ongoing.

To be clear we are not suggesting that "NASP" itself will be charging money, we mean the organisations that make up NASP.  The subtle  distinction allows some of them to say "nothing to do with us guv and NASP doesn't make any money", however NASP is much shorter to type than listing all of them.

Don't be surprised if when the dust finally settles on the new DVSA Insurance Industry approved B+E course you'll have to pay ££££ to one join a register run by them. 

 If anyone has any doubt about this then just remember the ridiculous COVID Keyworker Register that they actually wanted you to pay to join? All this during lockdown when may ADIs were going to the wall. 

Don't forget Lovejoy and Laura Great Rex all had full pay and benefits for 18 months during lockdown as well as storing up some holiday entitlement as well !
