NASP Email the DVSA, and longer waiting lists ahead?
NASP have emailed a strongly worded list of questions to the DVSA, presumably if the DVSA keep ignoring them, they'll send another strongly worded email. (Anyone remember the much vaunted NASP email to the CEO during the start of the CVOID crisis? The reply to that seemed to be lost in the post as well)
The NASP quislings have also told the DVSA that keeping your badge in during the test should be compulsory.
"This system only works when the instructor’s badge is displayed during test. Surely therefore it should become mandatory to display the badge"
NASP presumably don't like the idea of a mass removal of ADI badges as a protest.
The pros and cons of the SC change, or your feelings on badge removal aside, the point of this petition is that the DVSA have once again unilaterally made a decision that affects thousands of ADIs with zero consultation from the industry because they have no effective watchdog, ADIs have no effective representation, and there is no challenge to their actions.
Perhaps instead of wasting your subscription fees on ineffective meetings the NASP associations should start funding judicial reviews against decisions taken by the DVSA? Of course NASP won't because this might upset the cosy relationship they have with the DVSA which is far more important to maintain than actually representing its members.
Examiner Strike?
Yes unbelievably this is on the cards. The latest from the examiners union:
"Last week we wrote to DVSA senior management to inform them that as there had been no agreement forthcoming to suspend plans for an 8-test schedule by Friday, 13 August we are now in dispute with them.......
We cannot rule out balloting members over possible strike action on the issue"
The DVSA seem apparent on railroading through 8 tests a day against the wishes of their union. Unlike ADIs however, examiners at least have a powerful organisation behind them.
Finally
If you're stood outside in the rain because your test centre waiting room hasn't opened yet, help spread the word and mention this petition to your colleagues.
