We would like to thank all of the ADIs and PDIs that have signed the petition recently in response to the latest outrage by the DVSA.

How can you help further?

There are 3 things we'd ask you to think about:

1) Firstly are you a member of the DIA, the MSA or the ADINC?

These are the only members of NASP. The DVSA will have "consulted" them stating their plans for 5 or more driver faults being one of the triggers for a standards check along with all the others well ahead of time, and none of these organisations which knew well ahead of time asked any of their paying members,

Were you asked as member? If not, why not?  If you feel you aren't being represented, vote with your feet and cancel your subscription. Hit them in the pocket where it hurts. 

Don't be blackmailed by the PI/PL insurance that is supposedly necessary either - Have you ever heard of anyone that has needed to claim on this "insurance"? If it is so necessary why is it so cheap? Ask your colleagues. If your local ADI association is paying to be affiliated with any of these organisations what are they getting?  Speak to your local committee, other than insurance all they do is pass on DVSA press releases anyway.

2)  They Are running a free Expo.  Sign up but for a free ticket but don't turn up. They are relying on fat fees from sponsors that want to sell you more products based on the turn out. Don't give them the satisfaction. They aren't representing you.

3) They are now conveniently offering paid training courses on the Standards Check and the Driving test marking. That's a funny coincidence don't you think?  Don't buy them and tell your colleagues to do the same. 

The DVSA is out of control with no oversight or representation from the average ADI, this latest fiasco will affect untold numbers of ADIs and members of the public that suddenly won't be able to find an instructor willing to take them for test in case they affect the figures and the instructor ends up with a Standard Check.
