UK drivers pass horses and livestock too fast and too close, causing many deaths, which could be prevented. 

Someone is injured on a UK road every four minutes, and with vehicle speed playing a part in every crash! 

In the last year 80 horses have died and The British Horse Society (BHS) show road incidents involving horses and vehicles are continuing to rise with 1,037 incidents reported to the equine charity over the past year.

This petition has been created to try and make it compulsory for drivers to reduce their speed to a maximum of 10mph past all horses and livestock on ALL roads. The unpredictable nature of animals means, they are much more likely to survive if struck by a vehicle at 10mph, than say 30mph. 

Drivers need to be aware that they are risking their own lives driving so fast past an animal that could be over 500kg in weight! The force of that through their windscreens at 30 would have devastating consequences for all parties!
