More vegan options available in UK airports

The Issue

Having travelled a few times through UK airports it has become increasingly obvious that the vegan options are limited. This also affects those with a lactose intolerance or are dairy-free for religious reasons. While most airports have a Boots to pick up a salad, it seems unfair that is the only food on offer.

Our local airport in Newcastle didn't even have that available on the day we were flying to New York, and no suitable available meal on the flight meant for 8 hours crisps & Graze boxes were the only food consumed. This is not acceptable in this day and age with growing awareness of dietary requirements and allergies.

I propose that all airports ensure there are dairy-free vegan options that aren't just salad based to fairly accommodate travellers who cannot eat animal products for whatever reason. Newcastle Airport had burgers and meat galore, and it seems blinkered after a huge refurbishment project that they have still ignored the needs of all passengers passing through. Not everyone wants a cheeseburger and a beer at 6am!

Please consider the children who are dairy-free through allergies. Is it fair they have to just eat crisps because the outlets can't create a suitable sandwich? There are plenty of alternatives readily available even in the big supermarkets. There is a growing demand for decent vegan food out there, if my own experience is anything to go by!
