Being a student of UEA, obviously the Student Bar is the main hangout for us to socialise. However, whenever you want to buy a drink, they are given to you in a plastic cup, and these are all then just left and consequently not recycled. Understandably, their policy for this is if you want to take your drink outside so no glasses are smashed, however with the way plastic consumption is going, this needs to change. Help make a difference by signing my petition to help the Student Union make a change in policy and subsequently help our planet; such as implementing £1 glass deposits that are kept if a glass is smashed, or using biodegradable paper cups
