On Monday May 6th, many PEACEFUL student encampment members and protestors in solidarity with Palestine were arrested by officers in RIOT GEAR. Despite any allegations of trespassing, it is INHUMANE that chancellor Pradeep Khosla is willing to arrest some of his OWN STUDENTS for peacefully protesting against something as despicable as GENOCIDE. The students' peaceful protest asking for divestment from companies that support Israel's genocide against Palestinians should not be met with arrest. These students will potentially face further consequences including suspension.

To quote Mika Spencer, a representative of the San Diego Jewish Voices for Peace, "Opposing the political state of Israel is completely different from being antisemitic". Jewish Voices for Peace opposes Zionism (Zionism being the state of Israel having a right to exist above the rights of anybody else including people who were there before Israel was even formed). Antisemitism and antizionism are NOT THE SAME.
