The last 365 days have been filled with passion, excitement, hard work, creativity, and a lot of fun! As we turn 1, we're looking back and celebrating the milestones and memories that happened along the way. 

From starting a petition that has gained over 13,000 signatures networking with businesses, doing over 56 news media, being the spotlight in magazine interviews across Alberta; We were also recognized at the school of Medicine at the University of Calgary in their course curriculum has been some of many accomplishments.

After long hours of working towards our advocacy ADAIA had the pleasure to be invited, being a part and witness the ceremony of the fourth session of the thirtieth legislature Throne Speech in Edmonton while working with the United Conservative Party, Alberta New Democratic Party, Green Party and Alberta Party on issues that matter to us! 

Meeting with over 30 MLA’s, Members of Parliament, City Councillors, the Premiers of Alberta Jason Kenney, and now Premier Danielle Smith, we met with Former Community  Social Service Minister Jason Luan and newly appointed Minister Jeremy Nixon, ADAIA received the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Platinum Award by Honourable Health Minister Jason Copping and Honourable CSS Minister Jeremy Nixon, our group advocacy’s focus efforts payed off on large-scale activities such as lobbying, campaigning, public outreach, and mobilizing the public. 

Just as people have conservative or liberal points of view we remain bipartisan, fighting for change in our disability workforce supporting our values.

As a community-based disability advocacy group, we are celebrating today the first of many years to come. We would like to thank everyone for supporting our movement!
