Free Vision Care for LA Homeless Community
0 have signed. Let’s get to 200!
Los Angeles County has the second largest homeless population in the US, consisting of approximately 43,854 individuals in 2016. These communities lack access to adequate vision care and glasses, due to barriers such as transportation and cost.
In order to address and help better their situation, the UCLA Mobile Eye Clinic seeks to provide free vision care and glasses so that these communities can have the basic eye care needed to improve their quality of life.
Please sign this petition to let Los Angeles County know that there is a great need for vision care for people experiencing homelessness and that the UCLA Mobile Eye Clinic can help out with such need.
How you see is how you live. Due to lack of vision, there are higher risks for accidents and mortality, and greater difficulties in employment, education, and independence. In order to prevent such struggles, greater measures need to be taken so that they can receive the care that they deserve.
