The University of Central Florida, Orlando, has a very restrictive dress code. It includes standards for clothing that other schools such as USF and FGCU don’t have. I was kicked out of the gym recently due to the exposure of my abdomen. I was wearing a gym set that consisted of a sports bra and leggings. The sports bra wasn’t one of those small/revealing ones either. it was pretty long in terms of sports bras. However, even if it was a normal sized sports bra, this dress code is still highly restrictive. It doesn’t specify gender, but it is very obviously targeted towards women, due to the fact that the restricted clothing shown on the guidelines is clothes that are targeted toward women. Gender regardless, most of the outfits shown are not inappropriate. Especially in a gym setting. Around campus, we students wear things that are more revealing than what’s allowed at the gym, and that does not sit right with me. Florida is hot. The gym is a place where we all sweat. Having to wear full length clothing is just not ideal. Us students are adults. We should be able to wear what we want. This is a gym. Take a look at the photos shown in the diagram.
