We Demand Justice For Seth Smith

We Demand Justice For Seth Smith
The Issue
On June 15th, Seth Smith, a third-year student at UC Berkeley, had gone for an evening walk around his neighborhood at 10:00 pm. During his walk, someone came up from behind, and shot him once in the back of the head. It killed him instantly.
There were no witnesses. And no video cameras from nearby homes had recorded it.
Seth was 19 years old, majoring in economics, and was due to graduate in spring 2021.
No national news outlets reported on it, and Chancellor Carol Christ of UC Berkeley put out a highly controversial, tone-deaf statement a week after Seth’s death calling the killing a “senseless tragedy that affects all of us”....“however many of us, are experiencing stress, grief and anxiety related to the coronavirus pandemic and the recent murders of George Floyd, Riah Milton, and other Black Americans”. Thus, sweeping this horrific tragedy of one of their own students, under the rug.
A reward of $50,000 was offered by the City of Berkeley for any information that leads to an arrest.
Its been over a month, and the Berkeley Police Department have not advised the public of any new leads and the media has not investigated it past the day it happened. UC Berkeley has not said anything more about Seth’s death.
Seth Smith’s family are still grieving, still wondering why their son was murdered and who did it. The Berkeley community should be concerned this murderer is still walking the streets. Someone knows something.
We demand more involvement from the Berkeley Police Department and UC Berkeley.
Please help spread the word that Seth Smith will not be forgotten - and that his killer needs to be found and brought to justice.
