The Future of WiC

Fellow WiC Fans, It has now been exactly one month since the Massgate servers went offline permanently. Many of you probably know that Massive was not successful in their work on community based solutions to keep the game running. Moving on can be tough, I know. For several weeks now, I've wanted to write this update, but the end of Massgate has left me demoralized and not so eager to confront our failure. But did we fail? With this petition, our forum posts, our emails, and all our other efforts, we managed to get one of the largest gaming corporations in the world to stop and listen. Not only did they listen, but they acted-- we enjoyed another two months of WiC past the original shutdown date. I had a lot of fun in the game towards the end, and I know many others did as well. I call that a success. WiC can never be the same without Massgate. It will be sorely missed. However, we can still play the game! Over the next few weeks, I hope to canvass interest in organized MM nights, and perhaps pub-style 8v8 games, depending on who wants to play.
