As you may or may not know, Ubisoft is implementing design changes in Rainbow Six Siege to appeal to a mass audience in China.  While these changes may help Ubisoft make headway into the giant Chinese video game market, these decisions not only alienates long time fans but also sets a dangerous precedent.  If Ubisoft can do it, what's to keep other Video game production companies; say EA or Blizzard from bending over backwards to appease the Chinese Government so they can profit from the Chinese market?

The Chinese market, no doubt is a lucrative one , and I am not saying that Ubisoft should not tap into it. However, the universal  changes in Siege should not happen just to appease a repressive government so the can tap into the market there.  I myself and countless others have spent time and money into the game; and to have Ubisoft milk us of our money while not caring about us is quite frankly insulting.

Ubisoft; while the damage has been done, it's not too late to repair it. How?

1. Don't implement the universal  design changes. China exclusive versions of game are a thing, why push out a universal update when there could be a Chinese version of Siege?  there is no alienation, and you get to tap into the Chinese market; it's a win win for both parties.

2. More transparency  behind the decision making. While your presence on social media is laudable,  it seems that there is no transparency behind the decisions the company makes. If Ubisoft becomes more transparent in its reasoning behind the decisions, then some of the eroded trust can be  partially repaired.

Ubisoft, Rainbow Six Siege is a great game. I played the game since Beta, and  bought the game on release. So have countless others. I have spent money on Siege, so have others to a varying degree. If this is how you reward loyalty, then there is no point in staying loyal. Siege is a great game, Ubisoft keep it that way.
