Legalize Marijuana in the UAE

Legalize Marijuana in the UAE

The Issue

To start this off, The UAE faces many problems in it's community of emirates many of which are, young adolescents initiating altercations, and purchasing illegal or using substitute subtances which are much worse than actually partaking in consuming marijuana. Now the argument here is that marijuana can affect an individual in such a manner that would result in them becoming mentally unstable (supposedly makes someone unable to control their actions which has been scientifically proven incorrect) and is forbidden in Islam, but these points are contradicted by the fact that alcohol is widely distributed around the country, on the other hand, marijuana has been proven to have undisputed health benefits with few side effects that have been discovered in research that occurred post 1995 when the outlawing of marijuana and other narcotics was set into stone.
Another argument that could be made is that if legalizing marijuana was to occur, it would destabilize the nation, which is essentially a baseless accusation as many other countries have successfully integrated marijuana into their community.

We aim to see a gradual and stable integration of marijuana in our society in many ways: it can be firstly issued to those who need it most; mental patients, those affected with eating disorders and the sick and ill who need it to cure their conditions. Then, a more general rollout should occur. It can be availible for all over 18. The general availability of marijuana will eliminate the illegal trade of it and keep drug dealers of the streets.
