Petition updateReject the FDA's Deeming of Vapor Products as Tobacco ProductsFinally a Win! But don't stop fighting yet!

The House Appropriations committee voted to approve an amendment to the FY 2017 Agricultural Appropriations bill that would change the predicate date for newly deemed tobacco products so that products on the market since 2007 would not have to retroactively go through the PMTA process. The bipartisan amendment by Rep. Tom Cole (R – OK) and Rep. Sanford Bishop (D – GA) passed by a 31-19 vote. This is a big win for vaping, but it is just the start of a long process and many things could still go wrong. We should definitely still be working towards change, including showing continued support for HR 2058 which would also change the predicate date. If you haven't participated in this call to action yet, do it now!
