Repeal the National Firearms Act and Restore the Bill of Rights.

The Issue

The second amendment to the constitution reads "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." All gun laws are infringments, and should be repealed immediately. The purpose of the National Firearms Act of 1934 was to combat prohibition era gangland violence by outlawing private possession of Thompson machine guns. If the government had not tried to legislate morality, there would have been no black market in alcohol to create the increase in organized crime. An armed populace is a polite populace.
