Oppose the Appointment of Mary Fallin

Oppose the Appointment of Mary Fallin
The Issue
President-elect Donald Trump has recently nominated Mary Fallin to become the Secretary of the Interior. In this position she would be managing most of our federal land and natural resources. This position requires someone who is sensitive to conservation and environmentally friendly agendas. Mary Fallin has no experience in any sort of environmentally related office and has demonstrated that she is moret than unwilling to fairly administrate such a department.
Fallin has repeatedly flouted EPA regulations, and as Governor of Oklahoma, she actually barred any CO2 emissions restrictions within the state. She even went so far as to declare October 13th of this year "National Oilfield Prayer Day" which praised the “blessings created by the oil and natural gas industry” and avows the “incredible economic, community, and faith-based impact demonstrated across the state by oil and natural gas companies.”
Please sign this petition if you agree that our lands and resources should not be governed by someone who cares more about appeasing the oil and gas industries than protecting our greatest inheritance. If you agree, we encourage you to contact your own Senators and let them know that you will not allow our nation's lands to be managed by someone like Mary Fallin.
A note to Coloradans. We will be sending a version of this letter to our senators, Gardner and Bennet, to affirm our objection to Mary Fallin's appointment. The following will be added to this letter: "You both have already been very outspoken on your beliefs about the new administration. It is now time to act on your opinions and not allow unqualified candidates to attain cabinet positions. Regardless of party, Colorado urges you to only approve individuals who are able -- and willing -- to fairly perform the jobs they are assigned to do. Environmental protection is incredibly important to the welfare of Colorado, and you will find many of us will not support candidates who are unwilling to stand up and defend our State."
