My two aunts decided to visit my mom on Oct. 25. They were denied visitation by the prison guards, who told them that my mom was under strict management. However, my mom was able to place a call to my father later that day. She said the prison didn’t move her into the strict management section. She also told us she is doing well and asked us not to worry about her.
This controversial response from prison confused us a bit, however we want to believe my mom's words. Under strict management, communication to the outside world will be cut off completely. It would also be very difficult for the family to reinstate the right to visit their loved one. In 2014, a Chinese girl named Bian Xiaohui was even arrested for seeking a visit with her father in prison. Like me, she is a daughter of a Falun Gong practitioner. In 2012 Bian’s father was given a 12-year prison sentence for his belief. After being repeatedly denied visitation by the prison, Bian held a banner outside the prison that read, “I want to see my father.” She was arrested and sentenced to three and a half years. (Her story is in the linked article.)
I sincerely believe the prison guards will see the innocent and kind nature of Falun Gong practitioners one day, and will stop forcing practitioners to denounce their religious belief and/or performing inhumane torture methods on the practitioners. After all, we are all humans sharing the same emotions, no matter what role we play in society.
I’m happy to share this good news with you. Thank you all for your support and prayers.
