Despite the Biden Administration's announcement on March 24th, we still have not seen any changes implemented or new plans announced to provide streamlined pathways for Ukrainian Refugees to the United States, even those with direct relatives here.

Over 5 million refugees have fled Ukraine. The reports of civilian violence and deaths keep mounting. The United States needs to act now! In the month of March, only 12 Ukrainians were resettled in the US as refugees. There are steps that President Biden could take today through executive orders to allow these refugees in desperate need to reunite with families and/ supporters here right away.

As many of you know, the best option for many seeking safety in the United States is to fly to Mexico and cross the border asking for humanitarian parole or asylum. This is unacceptable! In Tijuana, authorities turned a sports complex into a makeshift shelter to house refugees waiting for their chance to plea for humanitarian admittance. In March over 3,000 Ukrainian refugees passed into the US through the Mexican border. Now in April, the numbers have mounted to the point that over 1,000 are flying into Tijuana alone every day.
