The U.S. National Whitewater Center (USNWC) is not paying their yoga teachers for their yoga classes or their annual yoga festival, Flow Fest, a yoga event that pulls hundreds of visitors to their location.

Currently, the USNWC compensates their yoga teachers in a form of a day pass (valued for $59) which is not a fair form of compensation given the income setbacks that yoga teachers have had to endure especially during a Pandemic.

As a yoga teacher myself, I can share a little bit about how a yoga teacher may be prepping for a yoga class - including classes at USNWC. A yoga teacher typically spends time planning a class, driving to the location to teach and spending typically an hour to teach and then driving back to their home. On average, this means a yoga teacher is spending approximately 1.5 - 2 hours for one hour long class in Charlotte.
