I have started this petition in regards to the stimulus check being denied to those who owe back child support.  I feel like the decision to deny us any form of help during this pandemic is unjust and will prove to be devestating for those of us who are employed and actively paying our child support. 

    Here is a rundown of my dilemma.  I owe the great State of California back child support for a daughter who is now grown.  I work my butt off yet after the wage garnishment for child support and taxes i bring home around 44% of my gross earnings.  I also have 4 small children to provide for.  And I am not alone.  Millions of Americans are sinking in the same boat I am right now.  Trying to pay off court ordered child support while providing for our families.  We work hard and after taxes and child support we are left with less than half of our gross pay, which for most, isnt enough to live on.  Yet we still get up and go to work because we RELY on that little bit that we DO get.  Most of us dont get tax returns because we owe, yet we STILL file.  We get NO breaks yet we continue to bust our butts and scrape by on peanuts because what other choice do we have?  And ALL of us have been affected by this pandemic yet now we are being told we are undeserving of any help therefore we shall recieve none.  Not to mention that those who arent working because of this COVID-19 are racking up even more back child support! 

      I am asking for an amendment to this stimulus bill to include those Americans who were employed and actively paying their child support when this pandemic hit.  We already struggle every single day to make ends meet and now more than half of us have been laid off indefinitely and we still have families to care for.
