Tell Congress to reject animal cruelty in the 2018 Farm Bill

After years of failed attempts, Iowa’s Rep. Steve King has succeeded in sliding a damaging animal welfare provision into the 2018 Farm Bill. The pro-factory farm amendment would undermine the ability of states to protect animals and human health.
The Farm Bill could go to the House floor for a vote at any moment. Please sign and share to tell Congress to reject the Farm Bill with the King Amendment.
The King Amendment would make it make it impossible for states to pass new laws and would eliminate existing legislation regulating the sale of products from animals raised on factory farms and in battery cages. The legislation could also put other animal protection laws in jeopardy, including:
- State puppy mill laws banning retail pet store sales of commercially bred puppies
- State laws banning the sale of cat, dog, and horse meat
- State laws banning the sale of shark fins
WE MUST ACT NOW. The King Amendment will be detrimental to a state's ability to protect animals and food safety.
Please sign to urge Congress to reject the version of the Farm Bill with the cruel King Amendment.
