Tell Congress That Anti-Blackness Will Not Be Fundamental.
The Issue
End Anti-Blackness in our time.
For too long, we have been told that anti-Black hate is freedom of speech or not to be confused with some other “intent”. Join this virtual march for legislation that targets legacy systems of anti-Black oppression to tell Congress that anti-Blackness will not be fundamental.
Reparations (such as, free tuition for the descendants of Freedmen/Freedpersons attending state universities)
Education (such as, decentralizing eurocentric curriculums in science and medicine and removing eurocentric core requisites in gen ed, literature, and art)
Lending & Finance (such as, investing in Black-owned banks)
Mortgage & Redlining (such as, special investigators to review closed or denied home loan applications)
Health (such as Maternal Death Rate & Black Infant Mortality, mental health services, and education to dispel biases in medical care)
Police Reform (to include CBP - Border Patrol)
Prison Reform
Culture & Identity (such as, free Ancestry testing for descendants of Freedmen)
Legislation in Progress*:
1. Black Maternal Health Act : https://blackmaternalhealthcaucus-underwood.house.gov/Momnibus
2. H.R. 40: Commission to Study and Develop Reparation Proposals for African-Americans Act : https://www.billtrack50.com/BillDetail/761444
(introduced to the House every year since 1989 by Rep. John Conyers until his death and continued by Rep. Sheila Lee Jackson)
