Applications are now open for AKF's #Advocacy Day on Capitol Hill on April 2-3, 2019. Interested? Click here to learn more:

Each year the American Kidney Fund brings a group of AKF Ambassadors to the nation’s capital for advocacy training and meetings with their elected officials on issues important to those affected by kidney disease.

On April 3, 2019, kidney patients, caregivers and loved ones will join the American Kidney Fund (AKF) on Capitol Hill to urge their elected representatives to protect living organ donors and ensure that low-income kidney patients continue to have the right to use charitable assistance to stay insured. The two-day event begins on April 2 with a full day of advocacy training. On day two, AKF Ambassadors put what they've learned into practice while talking to their U.S. Representative and Senators.

Travel, hotel and meal expenses will be covered by AKF. If you are interested in participating, please submit your application no later than February 11, 2019.

Please note that we receive a high number of applications and have a limited number of spots available for our 2019 Advocacy Day. However, even if you are not selected, we need passionate AKF Ambassadors all year round and may reach out with other opportunities to advocate on behalf of kidney patients, so please apply!

Please contact Ben at bshlesinger@kidneyfund.org if you have any questions about this application.
