Why this petition matters

Started by Lori Kitaygorodsky

February 14, 2018 was the date of the most tragic school shooting in US history in Parkland, FL. 17 lives were lost on Valentine’s Day at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.

After careful investigation, insufficient emergency response time was found to be a major contributing factor in the loss of life that day. What if response time can be shorter, more rapid and efficient? The Alyssa Law, named after 14 year old Valentine’s Day shooting victim Alyssa Alhadeff, requires all public elementary and secondary schools to install either silent panic alarms or alternative emergency mechanisms approved by The Department of Education.  Through a provision in the Bipartisan School Violence Prevention Bill, The Alyssa Law has the potential to protect all of our children across the United States.  Let’s help to be a part of the solution in the aim to Make Our Schools Safe!

Any funds donated will be utilized to assist in passing The Alyssa Law @ The National Level.
