Currently, each state has its own laws regarding crimes against animals, if they have any at all, and they are sub-par at best.  They’re the first to greet you when you walk in the door after a long days work, and no matter what kind of day/week/life you’ve had, one look at that butt wiggling like it’s attached to some Formula One motor, always brightens up your day. And when you’ve caught the seasons’ latest lottery prize, and your bones ache, you’re exhausted and it feels like you can’t breathe, you can bet there’s always one friend who’s right by your side (on your lap and pillow if possible), always ready with a quick kiss because somehow that’s going to be the cure for that nasty cold??. For everything your furry friends can do, they still have no voice. Please, let’s stand up for those who can’t. Let’s have federal universal laws for everything ranging from adoption laws and severe breeding restrictions to mandatory minimum sentences for crimes against animals.
