We have 6,537 supporters but we need more. Please HELP! This dog should not, or have not died. If his owner had treated him right, this would not had happened. He had no shelter or shade, no water or food, in the 90"s. This dog died trying to get to a bush for shade. The animals are not stupid. They do have feelings. Nothing against the employees, but there are too many animals being abused and/or killed. This has to be stopped! The animals do not have a chance without us. We are the only hope they have. This petition is for every State to have the same laws after they are made to make the abusers not to want to hurt the animals. After all no matter how you look at it, if they kill an animal it is a living thing. South Carolina Ill treatment of animals, generally, is defined as: “knowingly or intentionally overloads, overdrives, overworks, ill-treats any animal, deprives any animal of necessary sustenance or shelter, inflicts unnecessary pain or suffering upon any animal, or by omission or commission knowingly or intentionally causes these things to be done.” Each offense is a misdemeanor and is punishable by imprisonment for up to 60 days and/or a fine of $100 to $500 for the first offense; imprisonment not exceeding 90 days and/or a fine up to $800 for a second offense; and imprisonment up to 2 years and/or a fine up to $2000 for a third or subsequent offense. Abandonment or neglect of providing “the necessities of life”, defined as adequate water, food and shelter is a misdemeanor and is punishable by a fine of $200 to $500 OR imprisonment up to 30 days. Not for sure which one he will get if he gets any punishment as so many get a slap on the wrist. Either way I feel that is not enough punishment for a life. This dog had to suffer to die trying to get to the shade. This is how he was found. He said found the dog dead in the yard just before 5 p.m., bloating and covered in flies and maggots, the report says. RIP PUP! RUN FREE! NO ONE CAN HURT YOU AGAIN!
