Ban pet rent and non-refundable pet deposit

Ban pet rent and non-refundable pet deposit
The Issue
It has come to my attention that pet rent and non refundable pet deposits are becoming very popular but also unreasonable. The average pet rent is between $15- $60 and pet deposits are any where from $200 - $500 sometimes these deposits are non refundable whether or not the animal has damaged the home or not.
When people can not afford to pay rent for their pet they have no choice but to send there furry friends to animal shelters where they are not treated the same or put down if no body wants them, some people even become homeless because they cant find a home that allows pets or is asking a reasonable amount to let their pet be in the home.
Pet deposits are a very reasonable and effective way for landlords to hold the tenants responsible for damage done to the home caused by pets. There is no reason why landlords should be taking a deposit for pets that is not refundable even if the pet does not damage the home it is a form of greed and robbery which is causing a huge problem for not just pet owners but the innocent pets themselves.
Pet deposits should be enough to cover damages caused by the pet/pets if any damage occurs at all. Pet rent is landlords seeking a way to get more money from tenants for no reason. Please help stop to this greed.
